What an AI assistant can actually read on your site
An assistant's crawler fetches HTML and stops there: it renders no JavaScript and infers nothing. A site built for Google can therefore be invisible to it while every SEO tool reports the site as fine - a robots.txt copied from a template years ago blocks GPTBot by name, or the page ships forty words of markup behind nine hundred kilobytes of script. This prints the specific things standing between a page and being quoted.
31 of 31 offline self-checks pass, each pinning one rule, and the same audit found the survey finding published on this site: of the top 1,500 sites, one in ten that publish an llms.txt also ban a crawler that would read it.
can chatgpt read my website, gptbot blocked robots.txt check, claudebot crawler access audit, llms.txt validator, why is my site not cited by AI, AI visibility checker.
